Chevrolet Repair: 1999 chevy suburban, chevy suburban, drum brakes

Hey I have a 99 burb and Im doin a rear end swap and I would like to know can I put a pickup rear in it and what year pickup rear will bolt up. In other words can I put a 96 pickup rear in it as long as gear ratio is the same. It has drum brakes .

HI BERT, is this a four wheel drive?? if so make sure the gear ratio is the same as the front diff. also the best advice i can give you is call your local junk yard and they will have all your answers for you about what years are interchangable..they have all this info on there sytem. this is a common asked question..hope this helps TOM..
