Chevrolet Repair: 89 chevy K-1500 4.3 5 speed, pickup coil, ohmmeter


Question
The truck is dead  No fire at coil and no injestor pulse. Have replaced distibutor and computer.  checked and have pawer to coil and injectors, also have power and ground at pcm.   help!!

I don't know how much help i can be on this one without hands on time.

The most common causes are ignition module (located in the distributor) ,
pickup coil (also located in the distributor), ignition coil

Disconnect the distributor lead and wiring from the coil.
Connect an ohmmeter as shown in step 1 of the image above. Use the high scale. The reading should be infinite. If not replace coil.
Connect an ohmmeter as shown in step 2 of the image above. Use the low scale. The reading should be very low or zero. If not, replace coil.
Connect an ohmmeter as shown in step 3 of the image above. Use the high scale. The meter should NOT read infinite. If it does, replace the coil.
Reconnect the distributor lead and wiring to the coil.
