Chevrolet Repair: 1991 s10 blazer 4.3l engine, fuel pressure regulator, 1991 s10 blazer

Question
I have a questions similar to one i saw posted. We are having a problem with gas in our oil as well, but we aren't having any of the problems that we should be, according to the answers given. There is no flooding and it only smokes when started, and then runs fine. Maybe a little rough for the first 5 mins. or so, but thats it. So, do you think it could be a TBI/CPI problem, or are we looking at something different?

Answer
Hi Sarah.... If you have fuel in the oil you have a flooding problem...when you cold start look down throttle body and see if the spray is in a nice cone shape...if not look at the injector as the problem..maybe try a good fuel inj cleaner...also take a look at fuel pressure regulator... hook up pressure tester and see if pressure is in range or if it is too high or too low....if too low pinch off vac line to regulator and see if pressure rises if not regulator is bad....hope this helps
