Chevrolet Repair: 96 Blazer, fuel pressure regulator, starter fluid

Question
Hi i have a 96 blazer 4x4 4.3. we tried to start and would not start the battery is fine. we sprayed with it starter fluid it started up and then it dies like it is not gettting fuel.We can hear the fuel pump kicking on and the filter is new. What could the problem be?

Thanks,
Scott

Answer
The pump could be kicking on but does it have enough fuel pressure.  You need atleast 60 psi for the truck to run.  Also the fuel pressure regulator could be draining back into the tank not allowing the fuel to stay at the injectors.  You really need to do a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel pump has enough pressure to start and run the car
