Chevrolet Repair: Alternator Replacement, chevy astro van, chevy astro

Question
I am getting ready to replace the alternator on my 1999 Chevy Astro Van and it looks like it will be difficult to remove and install out the top of the engine compartment.  Any warnings or suggestions?

I will probably replace the serpentine belt at the same time.

Answer
This is the one vehicle I hated changing the Alternator.  It's really not a big job, just working in a tight space, was hard for me.  Really, you only need to remove the air intake assembly, the radiator upper shroud, the serpentine belt....Make sure you disconnect the battery. Then it's a matter of unbolting the alt and switching it out.  No surprises there just unbolt and bolt.  Then reassemble the parts
anything else feel free to ask
