Chevrolet Repair: White Frothy Substance on the bottom of oil fill cap, monte carlo z34, bad pcv valve

Question
Hello Wayne,
I have a 1999 Monte Carlo Z34 with a 3.8L V6 and I have a white frothy substance on the bottom of my oil fill cap...My fear is an intake leak into the block. What are your thoughts. Thank You very much!

Answer
Ryan,

Did I not already answer this question today?

It could be an intake leak but it could just be a bad PCV valve as well.  The PCV is designed to open up under load to suck out crankcase vapors lowering emissions.  Stagnant crankcase vapors can sometimes brew the moisture and cause it to condense on the top of the motor and you will see it on the valve cover cap.  Is there any oil in the radiator?  Even the smallest amount of droplets can indicate cross contamination.
