Land Rover Repair: 2001 Discovery 2, discovery 2, ebay

I bought a 2001 discovery 2 on ebay, and its a great car.  I had a hose replaced from the radiator to the transmission, by aamco.  Ever since I had the hose I've had a lot of lights come up on my dash.  My check engine light is always on, and every other light will come on every once in a while.  Last saturday I went to go somewhere in the LR, and when I turned the key the alarm went off.  I hit then unlock button on the keys and tried again.  The alarm went off again.  When I turn the key in the on position, all the lights are on and the green M & S for the transmission are flashing.  I've unplugged the battery, and checked all of my fuses.  I'm not sure what the problem is and LR (on the phone) has no idea.  The closest dealer is around 80 miles away, and I hate to tow the car that far.  Please help... Also I did not receive a manual, which was supposed to be shipped after purchasing the car but never was. Thanks. Jace

If the key's buttons lock and unlock the vehicle, and when you unlock and then turn in the ignition teh aparm goes off . . . try another key.

If you don't have another key I'm sorry to say about all you can do is tow it to the dealer.

If it's locked out you'll need a shop with the specialist Land Rover test system to talk to the alarm and clear the fault.

Your story suggests that there might be a problem with the cable to the transmission - it may have been hit or disturbed while changing the line.

But if you've gotten to an alarm lockout there is no home remedy, Im afraid.
