Chevrolet Repair: loss of brakes at slow speed, chevrolet monte carlo, internal seals

Question
1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that will have a sudden loss of brake, usually at slow speed (under 35 mph). It seems to happen more in situations such as when at a light and I lift foot off brake pedal to coast forward, when I reapply the brakes the peddle goes to the floor. I still have enough to stop and if I pump it the peddle returns to full brake. I do not get an indicator light at all and it is sporadic. I have moved to the mountains and it has increased in frequency and happens when I break for a curve.

Answer
Hey,

Check base brake materials and make sure there are no leaks or seized components.  You most likely have a defective master cylinder.  It sounds like one of the internal seals is either ripped or excessive sediment is not allowing it to seal.
