how much voltage is required to run the fuel pump in a 1996 gmc safari van.  it was running great, parked it, tried to start it again wont attempt to start

Voltage should be battery voltage


 You need to check fuel pressure.  It should be 55psi and not a pound less or it wont go.  The vortec engine has poppet spring loaded injectors and will not inject fuel untill 55psi is met.
