Chevrolet Repair: 1998 Cavalier, crank sensor, chevy cavalier

Question
My husband bought my son a chevy cavalier and my son overheated the car and it would no longer run we let the car sit for about a year and now are trying to get it running again my husband replace the motor, crank sensor, cam sensor, coil pack , and still we have no spark  what can you advise.. Thanks

Answer
Hi Wendy, This would not be a common problem to see with a cavalier. Yes they do once in awhile have a coil go bad but to not have any spark is not common. I would first be sure that there is power to the ignition module. If there is power and a good ground the only other thing you need is a signal from the crank sensor at the module. Sounds to me if everything is connected you need a new ignition module.

Hope this helps you
