RV Repair: Suburban water heater ignition, suburban water heater, propane water heater

Question
I have a 10 gal. electric ignition Surburban propane water heater that tries to ignite three times then stops till reset. When reset it goes through the same procedure, the burner burns during each of these tries. It will heat water electricly.  This water heater is in a 2002 class A. Can you please help in finding and repairing the problem.
Thank You

Answer
Check the thermocouple and the gas pressure. You may have low pressure to the W/H. The flame should be blue with very little orange in it. Check the electrode for cracked porcelain, make sure the gap between the electrode and ground is 1/8. If none of these help you may want to take it in for service if you anticipate using the W/H on propane.
