Chevrolet Repair: 1989 Chevy K-5 Blazer 350 V8, reinforcement kit, desert dogs

Question
I recently installed a Skyjacker 4 inch lift kit. The kit came with easy ride front springs, shocks, steering arm, rear 4 inch blocks, U-bolts for rear and rear shocks. I went back with stock drag link and installed 33x12.50 R15 LT Desert Dogs tires. I made new drop brackets and rebolted and aligned the sway bar. My problem is: When you turn the steering wheel left or right, the frame flexes back and forth where steering box is located and also makes front end move back and forth making it very difficult to drive. My question is: Should I have put a new drop drag link to go with the new steering arm that came with the kit or someone told me when you install lift kits with wider tires, you need to remove the steering sector and weld a 1/4 inch plate for stability and then reinstall steering sector.
This is my first lift kit to install so I will appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks,
Tony

Answer
Hello Tony,\
I haven't done a lift like that, but I have heard of a frame reinforcement kit for where the steering gear bolts to the frame.

I think you need a new pitman arm also, if you didn't get it.

But that steering gear has to work a lot harder to turn those huge tires, so the gussett reinforcement kit is a necessity.
Check with the supplier of the lift kit.
