Question
Curtis,
I have a 1962 Nova with a 1988 Chevy 350. I have replaced the ignition, ignition switch, neutral safety switch, points, rotor, cap , and condenser. I have the wired from the ignition to the starter and onto the coil. the engine turns over but won't spark,The coil voltage is reading 3.7 with the key on. Any ideas what I should do next?

Answer
Well more than likely you may need to run a new power wire to the coil. does that have an HEI distributor. If it does just run a wire straight from a 12 volt power source to the distributor. If it starts that will tell you that the power source you already have is bad. It won't hurt anything to just run one from somewhere else. People do it all the time. Get back to me and let me know if it starts when you run a new wire. hope this helps.
