Chevrolet Repair: Tahoe Steering, chevy tahoe, rear wheels

Question
I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe.  Just recently I have noticed difficulty turning left in that it requires a great deal of effort.  This happens only at very slow speeds.  I do not have any issues in turning right.  . I've checked for obstructions and the fluid level is ok.  Any help will be appreciated

Answer
You will need to try something and get back to me at zimmer_jrz71@yahoo.com. First, set your parking break and block the rear wheels, then jack up and properly secure the front of the vehicle, with your engine running and in park try revving it up just a little while you turn the wheels to the left. If that helps I would say you might have some air in the line. If so you will need to work it out by turning the wheels back and forth but not all the way quite a few times. If that still isn't working you may need to check all the steering components for an obstruction of some kind. Also watch and make sure the idler arm is not binding up, you should be able to tell that right away by watching it move. If none of those are the problem you might have a bad pump or steering gear box(more than likely the gear box). I haven't had the pleasure of working on anything like that so none of this is for sure but it is a good start. Hope all turns out well, let me know.
