Chevrolet Repair: turn signals, chevy silverado, fuse block

Question
I just recently purchased a 1988 chevy silverado 2500 4x4.
I found out that I have no turn signals, but the hazard flashers do work. I purchased a new flasher fuse and when I went to install it I found that neither fuse matched the new fuse for the truck. I assumed that the proper location was inside the cab on the bottom fuse block.  The truck was previously used on a farm and has been wired for trailer brakes.  Would that have any affect on what type of fuse I would need for the turn signals? This one really has me baffled any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

                           Thank You,

Answer
I doubt it would have any effect on the fuse type, but it sure could have some effect on them working.

If someone has modified the orriginal system, the best direction is to find someone familiar with that type truck, and get them to take a look at it.
