Chevrolet Repair: heating problem, heater hose, heater core

Question
I have a 2000 chev extreme. I lose my heating every few weeks or so. To get my heater to blow hot air again I take off the 3/4" heater hose that hooks up to my manifold and push water through the hose for just a second and re-hook it up. This fixes it for a few weeks then its back to no heat.

Answer
Hi John,

Possibly, you need to flush the heating system out.  This will purge the heater core of any build up.  Then you want to flush the radiator.  The build up is in there too.  Remember to pull the thermostat when you do this, so you don't plug that up with debris.  Since you pulled that, you might as well put in a new one.

Hope this helps.
