Chevrolet Repair: 2000 Impala Wiper Arm, crank arm, wiper blade

Question
I've got a question for you.  My driver's side wiper on my 2000 Impala gradually moves closer to the left of the windshield as the wipers are operating.  It keeps moving until eventually, the wiper blade is partially off of the window.  The wipers still move in unison the whole time, but as long as the wipers are operated at a continuous setting, the wiper will eventually fall off of the windshield.  What is the solution to rectify this problem?  Does it sound like a bent stop for the wiper arm or something requiring a replacement of the arm?

Answer
Hi Rey, The first thing I would check is  the nut that holds the wiper arm to the post on the car. These are known to get loose and the arm can move where ever it wants too. If this is ok, The next part that goes bad is the wiper crank arm. This part is connected to the wiper motor and is not so easy to replace or inspect. To get to this part you need to remove both wiper arms and the plastic that goes from side to side.

Hope this helps
