Chevrolet Repair: 1993 passanger tail light, ground test, light assembly

Question
I have a tail light out on the rear passenger side.  I have replaced the lights, the circuit board the lights go into, but still there are no lights working.  What would you suggest to replace next on the vehicle in order to get the lights back on?

thanks,
Jeremy

Answer
First get a 12 volt test light. Make sure it works.
Connect to a good ground back by the tail light. Not the tail light ground.
Test to see if you have power in the socket.
If you do, check the light ground wire, and make sure you have a good ground.

If you do not have power, trace the wire harness backwards, testing the same wire, probably brown, till you get to a connection where there is power. Wiggle the connections.

I bet you will find that the ground for the light assembly is not good.
