Chevrolet Repair: Heater on a 1992 Buick Roadmaster, buick roadmaster, coolant temp

Question
My dad has a 1992 Roadmaster and the AC is working but the heater is not. He took it to the shop last year and they said that it is a loose pin on the temp atenuator. He had to buy a tool. 1. Do you think this is the problem again. If it is how do I get to it to fix it. If not, what could it be?

Answer
Hi Ralph, It is common for the heater cores to plug up and not flow any coolant through the core to give you heat. You can test this by feeling the coolant temp in both heater hoses, should be close to the same. If their not, then flush the core with a garden hose in both directions.

Hope this helps
