how to take off a distibur on a chev celbrity v6 1986 modle. My husband is have trouble taking it off so he can replace the pickup cirlar magnet that broke. Or do we have to buy a whole new ditribter? He still has to take the old one off.

Hi Debbie, There is a bolt that holds the distributor into the block. He needs to remove the bolt then remove the dist. from the engine. Be sure he marks the location of the rotor so he puts it back in the correct position.

Some times you will need a special tool to get to the bolt, like a distributor wrench.
