Chevrolet Repair: four wheel drive 1999 chevelet tahoe, transmission repair shop, snap ring

four wheel drive makes a noise like when you would touch a fan with a stick,but only when there is resistence applied. I had it checked by a transmission repair shop and they said the four wheel drive was ok and that they did not hear any noise that i explained,but they didn't apply any resistence.

Hi John, Not sure where the noise is coming from here, front end or transfer case. If it is in the transfer case, there is a snap ring that breaks in the rear of the transfer case. You can replace this snap ring by just removing the driveshaft and the rear housing on  the transfer case. This is somewhat common. If it is in the front axle I would replace the actuator in the front end.
