Chevrolet Repair: 1997 Chevy Venture, power steering pump, chevy venture

Question
Mark I asked you the following question last week and only got this question back and no reply ? Can you please advise again.

Your question was
I have a two part question. 1) Recently I had the motor replaced in my 1997 Venture (3400 V6) which had 112,000 miles on it. This was done due to the camshaft breaking, and causing 3 valves to bend and a couple of rod bearing to spin. Upon getting my vehicle back I noticed that it seemed to whine a bit more when accelerating, and not sure what could be causing this. 2) Also upon driving it I noticed when going up hill with the cruise control on, the van sometimes jerks when the transmission kicks down into a lower gear. It doesn't do this all the time and it don't matter if its hot or cold. It didn't do this prior to the engine being replaced.
I'm really confused as to what is going on here. The check engine light hasn't come on, and the transmission oil and filter was changed when the motor was switched out. The motor was used with about the same milage on it. Any suggestion on what could be causing this ? Thank you for your help in advance

Answer
Hi Jim, When you replace a engine in this van you take a lot of stuff apart. There could be sometime making contact with the body causing the whine of maybe it is the power steering pump making noise. With out hearing the noise it is very hard to say. As for the trans problem, another one I would have to test drive to give you a answer on.

Sorry I can't help you out
