Chevrolet Repair: power windows, silicone spray, chevrolet cavalier

Question
 I hav a 2002 chevrolet cavalier 2 door . I had been experiencing problems with the passanger window only going up 1/3 to half way before stopping. then my button wouldn't work up or down for a while. Then i could push it and it would go the rest of the way up. Now my driver side does the same thing. I bought a new 2 button switch and put it in with no luck. there is only one switch for these windows located in the center console. I am at a loss as to what to do.I can't hardley believe both motors are bad. Is there a circuit breaker that resets itself that has gone bad that I am not aware of? It is odd as sometimes it goses up 1 or 2 inches and other times 3/4 way before stopping.

Answer
Yes, it IS possible for BOTH motors to be failing and would NOT be the first time.

There is a small square aluminum CIRCUIT BREAKER in the fuse panel that controls the winow motors. Feek if it gets EXTREMLY HOT to the touch when your problem occurs.

You problem may be simply that the side felt guies are DRY of lubricant and need to be sprayed with a SILICONE spray to moisten up the guides.

let me know.
