Chevrolet Repair: acceleration problems, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

I have a 93 geo prizm, I know the first problem is it is a geo. Mark answered my question earlier
but, here I go again.

I am having acceleration problems car runs good till I come to a stop to accelerate again.
I have worked on cars for years. This acts like it is vapor locking. Mark said to pull out the mass air flow sensor and clean, I am now being told that my year did not come with this sensor.
What could this be?

I just got the car.

I am very much a lady but a great back yard mechanic.

I have YET to encounter VAPOR LOCK on any newer vehicles. If this is what you think it is, try removing or leaving the gas cap loose when this starts to occur and see IF it solves your problem.

I would lean more towards and intermittent fault in the TPS and or possibly a fuel pump starting to fail..
