Chevrolet Repair: wont start, engine cranks, chevy express

Question
I have a 1999 Chevy Express 250 with a 5.7 engine, while backing out of my driveway the van stalled and would not restart. The engine cranks at its nomal speed but nothing happens. I have 1/4 tank of gas.The van has 96,000 miles. I never have had a problem with stalling. Could you also tell me how to remove the engine cover on the inside of the van.

Thanks Glen

Answer
Hi Glen,
A lot of possibilities, but I would start by checking for fuel and spark.
See if you can hear the pump in the tank running. I am thinking you may have caused a wire connection to come loose if there is a sharp curb or dip in the driveway.
May be the fuel pump sucked air, and just adding some more gas might do it.

I don't know about the engine cowl.
Should be some clips, and you may need to pull the carpet back and loosen some screws.
