Chevrolet Repair: 99 Suburban, oil gauge, gas gauge

Question
Hi Mark, Problem 1)My teenager pulled the inside door handle off the driver's door! I removed the door panel, and exposed the handle. It seems to be riveted in, am I correct? How do I remove and replace the handle? The handle looks like about a $10 part in online searches.Problem 2)My gas gauge shows full when full, otherwise innacurate until empty. Problem 3)My oil gauge fluctuates from showing fine to showing no pressure at all- then the "check gauges" light comes on. My wife has given me this laundry list, with problems 2 & 3 apparently existing for over a year! The vehicle seems to run fine, otherwise.

Answer
Hi Jon, To replace the inside handle you need to drill out the rivet then slide the handle forward. Then just slide the new one in and install a new rivet.
The fuel gauge you need to replace the level sensor. This is in the fuel tank and mounted to the pump. Best to have the tank near empty when doing this job.
As for the oil pressure...first make sure there is oil in it!!!  Then replace the sending unit for the gauge. This is located in the rear of the engine on the top drivers side.

Hope this helps
