Chevrolet Repair: STEERING WHEEL 85 CHEVY VAN, chevy van, plastic covering

I'VE REMOVED THE STEERING WHEEL AND A PLASTIC COVERING, BUT NOW IM AT THE METAL WHEEL LOCK AND CANT REMOVE IT. IM TRYING TO PUT IN A NEW IGNITION SWITCH. THANKS

Hello Richard, You need to go to the parts store and buy and lock plate compressor. This tool screws onto the shaft on then you turn the nut down to push to lock plate down. Now you can remove the snap ring and then the lock plate.
