Chevrolet Repair: Windshield Wipers Wont work - 85 Silverado, chevy silverado 4x4, windshield wipers

Question
I have an 85' silverado.  A week or so ago the wipers quit working.  The first thing I did was replace the wiper motor.  Still won't work.  I checked all the wires that plug into the two different connectors. I believe 3 or four of the wires light up on my test light which suggests power is coming to the wiper motor.  when I actually turn the wipers on and off I do hear a clicking that happens somewhere under the hood similar to the sound of a starter solenoid when it goes out.  Parts dealer says I do not have a wiper pulse board module.  What else could be my problem? This is a 1985 Chevy Silverado 4x4.  350 w/edelbrock if that matters.  Looks like cruise was disassembled when new rebuilt and edelbrock where dropped in.  That's what I can tell you about the truck.  Oh yeah, truck was wired for and carries a plow at times although I'm not sure that has anything to do with this since the plow has always been there but the wipers quit just the other day?

Answer
Hello Jeremy,
He was talking about a board problem, common on a later model truck where the solder joints on a pulse board were loose.
Yours sounds like it might be working, but the arm isn't working correctly.
Did you remove the complete assembly, or just the motor?
Your ground strap on one of the mounting bolts is making good contact? Check it by connecting the test light to ground, and touching the strap. It shouldn't light.
And see if the arm is connected to the links in the cowl.
