Chevrolet Repair: engine lag, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
Approx. three months ago on a 1999 Chevy Blazer with 105,000 miles I noticed when driveing at a steady speed, with cruise control on or off, the engine would drop off a few hundred RPMs and when approaching an incline it was more noticable.  Plugs, wires, distribtor cap and rotor were replaced 6 months 10,000 miles ago.  The rotor burnt up with only 6000 miles on it 2 months ago.  It is now to the point where it will not accelerate or drive without constant lurching and sputtering. The fuel pressure and plug firing has been checked at a GM garage and was fine.  The check engine light came on and the scan reported Mass Air Flow sensor.  I replaced it with no effect. Before an expensive trial & error of replacing parts could you tell me where to start looking for the culprit

Answer
Hi Ralph, The first thing is to replace the fuel filter. I'm also not happy hearing that you went through a dist rotor that fast. The dist on some of these was a problem, They would get water inside them and corrode. You need to replace the dist assembly to correct this problem.

Let me know how you make out!
