Chevrolet Repair: 89 S10 chev blazer-rear window defogger, backup lights, hot wire

Question
My right directional light does not work when defogger is turn on. Also my tail lights and Backup lights stay on. Had to disconnect hot wire to defogger grid tab to correct the problem. Please advise! I have no rear defogger now ?

Answer
Check the rear defogger BLACK ground wire at the opposite side of the rear window.

If you look at the small shocks that hold the back hatch window UP you will see a POSITIVE wire and a NEGATIVE wire. Most time sthe negative wire of which is suposed to be grounded to the vehicles body corrodes and or breaks loose and will cause your problem.
