Chevrolet Repair: Brakes, brake calipers, abs light

Question
93 Chevy P/U 5.7L 2WD 101000Mi. While driving down the road the right front brake starts to grab, pulling the truck hard right. When I apply the brake it pulls hard left. No matter what speed the problem could start anytime under any condition. It does not happen all the time. After this begins, the hotter the brakes become the more the right sticks. Once hot, when I slow or stop and then start again the whole truck shakes, still pulling right. After the truck rests for a while(+2hrs)the brakes go back to normal. I have disks on the front and pads on the rear. The BRAKE light in the dash has never come on. The light is functioning, when I turn on the ignition it comes on for 2-3 secs then goes back off. I thought this light was for the emer brake. Is it the ABS light also? Thank You for any suggestions!

Answer
Your problem is quite common and requires replacing BOTH front brake calipers, BOTH front brake hoses, Maching or replacing BOTH front rotors and installing new brake pads.

What typically happens is that the 2 front brake hoses tend to deteriorate inside and restrict the return flow of brake fluid back to the master cylinder which causes the calipers to stay to tight on the rotors.

This is a very common fault.
