this thing was getting hot with pressure blowing out the antifreeze  temps staying in the 195-240 range the O.E.M. thermostat is 180  so i changed it the second one in about a year   now the temp is about the same but blows cold air inside and pressure is less but still higher than i like  could it be possible it is now air locking   there is no bleeder that i can find  what kind of suggestions can you provide
  i have a 94 S-10 with the same engine but have no problems like this  i really need to get my moms car on the road  PLEASE HELP

Hi William,
Sounds like you might have a plugged heater core. Did the car have DexCool antifreeze?
I have heard some bad publicity about it. Go to Google.com and search DexCool.
But I would unhook a heater core hose, or both of them, and see if a garden hose will flow water through it.
If it is plugged, possibly the engine needs flushed also.
230 isn't bad, and 240 is probably still within normal specs when under pressure.
The radiator cap dictates the pressure, typically about 14 PSI, but whatever is stamped on the cap.
The pressure is what keeps the coolant from boiling when above 212.
A quick way of checking circulation through the heater core is feeling the heater hoses. They should both get hot befort the upper radiator hose.
