Chevrolet Repair: Wiper problem, chevy silverado, speed work

Hi Van,
I have a 2003 chevy silverado 4x4 automatic LS model.The wipers won't turn off.High and low speed work but the intermittent and off positions don't work. I know my dealer is going to need two visits to repair. Any idea what might be wrong?

P.S. A while back the wipers skipped once in a while but that seems to have stopped.

Hi Paul,For years GM had problems with solder joints in the wiper module. Their fix was to replace the module with a new one....with bad solder joints.

PS...You can fix the problem yourself, a lot cheaper than paying the dealer, but you might ask them if it is under warranty, recall, or campaign.
