Chevrolet Repair: wheel seal, chevy dealer, wheel seal

Question
Hi, maybe you can give me an opinon.
My wife took her 2001 Tracker to the Chevy dealer
for an oil change. She was told the left rear wheel axel was leaking and to replace it and the bearing would be $718.00. This seems like way to high to me. I have done this repair myself in the past on american cars for just a few dollars.
Maybe the tracker is made different,I don't know.
It's a V6 and 4WD. Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Frank,
And this is the place you take your vehicle for regular service??
I think I would be looking for a different dealership, if they are going to treat you like that.
I have changed rear axle seals on a Mack truck for a lot less than that.
I can't immagine anything in there that should make it cost that.
