Suzuki: suzuki vitara, suzuki vitara, chilton manual

Question
I have a 2001 suzuki vitara 2.0. Recently, I started having a problem starting the engine when hot.

In the morning it starts Ok, not on the dime, but it starts. After i drive it for a while, if I stop for a few minutes, the engine will not start. I have to wait 10, 15 or 20 minutes before it starts. I noticed that when I remove the gas tank cap and put it back, the engine starts very quickly. The other day, it died while in traffic. I called road side assistance, but the car started after about 15-20 minutes and I cancelled the roadside assistance service..  Help!!!!!

Answer
I wonder if the fuel tank vent and carbon cannister hoses are somehow not allowing air in to replace fuel as it's used.  If you have a Suzuki (Factory, not a Haines or Chilton) manual you can find the diagnosis procedure.  I have never worked on a Vitara, and am a Samurai guy, and have no specific information.
