Question -
I have a 93 blazer s10 4X4 v8.  I have had alot of work done to it.(new heads, starter, alternator, radiator) now once again my truck won't start.  This was an everynow and then problem. But eventually went won't start at all.  I took it to goodyear for a diagnostic, they said take it to the dealership for a possible sensor.  If so I want to order parts online the only sensors for my make and model are for a v6 will that be ok for a v8?
Answer -
Hi Vevie, Well this truck has a V8 in it. This means someone has done a lot of work to it to install this engine. I would first find out what is going on with the no start problem. Do you have spark and will it run if you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body? If so then you have a fuel problem and need to check for fuel pressure.

Let me know what you find out

Mark

Answer
Hello Vevie, Ok now we know what you don't have. Now what kind of dist did they use. Is it a HEI or the new style with the ignition coil separate from the dist. If it is a HEI dist then first make sure that you have power at it, now you need to check the pick up coil resistance (800 to 1500 ohms). If this is all good then i would replace the ignition module. If that doesn't do it replace the ignition coil.
If it is the other dist try replacing the ignition coil first then the module. I'm thinking it is a HEI dist.

Have a Nice Day    Mark
