Chevrolet Repair: 1994 GMC CHEVY VAN G20 3/4 TON, chevy van g20, rear wheel bearings

    THE REAR WHEELS ARE HUMMING LOUDER AND LOUDER EVERYDAY WHEN DRIVING AT A LOW TO HIGH RATE OF SPEED.  I TOOK IT THROUGH THE SWIRVING TEST ON A BACK ROAD AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS NEED REPLACING.  I HAVE NEVER CHANGED OUT BEARINGS ON A REAR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE.  CAN YOU WALK ME THROUGH THE STEPS/PROVIDE ME WITH AN EXPLOSION SCHEMATIC ON WHERE EVERYTHING IS AFTER THE WHEELS ARE TAKEN OFF.  THANKS  PAUL H

Hello Paul, First of all I'll bet it is the pinion bearings or side bearings that are making the noise. This axle is going to have to come completely apart for inspection. You will to know what your doing on this type of job and will need special tools. There is no way for me to walk you through this one. Sorry
