Chevrolet Repair: blower motor resistor, blower motor resistor, resistor pack

Question
I need to replace this part, as my a/c doesn't work in low or medium mode. 1993 chev silverado c1500, short wheelbase, 6 cyl. 4.3 ltr. how do I get in there, and where exactly is the part located? Thanks for your prompt help.

Answer
Hello David,
First, remember to make sure it isn't the switch that you need. You can check for that when you get to the resistor pack.
To get to it, remove the glove compartmant door and pouch.
You will see the top of the a/c housing. May be some relays there also, but what you need is a plug with about six wires, connected to a block that looks like it is just sitting on there. Remove the screws, and you will find that the resistor pack is actually down inside, so the air flow can keep it cool.
