Chevrolet Repair: Tail Light, chevrolet lumina, trunk area

Question
My daughter got hit in the rear and it broke the left rear tail light.  How do I go about fixing it?
Car is a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina.
I am a novice at car repair....

well are ya cheap like me or care to take it in to have it fixed? lol if your a home kinda guy, find out how much a replacement new is going to run ya, if that is too much then go price one at a junk yard, cheap and yet still affordable. then get it home and most rear tail light assembly are the same, unscrew them from inside the trunk area and repalce. if you have never done it , take your time, and remeber where each screw goes and take your time. it is about a 2 wrench or of a 5 wrench job. one being easy and 5 you might need some skills to do. hope this helps. another quick fix i did once, go buy red or whatever color tape and tape that sucker up. looks tack but screams i fixed it.. hint: color tape is better than duct tape, i tried that and a law officer brought that to my attention.  keep me posted.
