Chevrolet Repair: 1990 alternator, chevy cavalier, remanufactured alternator

Question
I'm installing a remanufactured alternator in my 1990 Chevy Cavalier. It's a 4 cilander with a serpantine belt. The alternator is installed,(I guess) but I can't get the belt to fit back on. What do I do? Thank You

Answer
ok  if the alternator cannot be moved there is a pulley tensioner. you'll have to get a wrench and place on the center of the pulley, and it will move just a bit, enough for you to slip the belt on. on my 94 cavaler it is the middle pulley on top. and i have to 'wrench" it over to the left. your may be differnet and i had to have help to install mine one person to tourque the other to place the pulley. hope this helps. if you need more info please let me know..
