Chevrolet Repair: chevy corsica, chevy corsica, rev ed


Question
i have a 91 corsica with 3.1 v-6 it had sit for a year before i bought it and i got it running and it runs good but when the engine warms up if i dont keep it on 1500 rpms when i stop at a light it dies and i have to keep it rev'ed up a little in order to get it going again . any ideas?

Hi Buck, the first thing you need to is relearn the idle. To do this run the engine in gear at idle for 10 minutes, now turn it off and restart after 30 seconds. Now again run the engine in gear at idle for 5 minutes, this should relearn the idle in the computer. This needs to be done any time the battery is disconnected or dead.
