Chrysler Repair: R & R drivers seat heater and heater module in 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Limited 2.07L Auto Tran

Question
1. My local mechanic said this would cost me $900 for him to do it. That's enough motivation for me to do this on my own. I have no idea what tools I'll need in addition to socket wrenches and screwdrivers (and a good porter or stout) to complete this job. Are there any special tools needed eg to R & R the heater module or to take apart the seat to get at the heating element? Also, do you have any resources -- books or videos that could guide me through the R & R process? I did see the prior post on Drivers side heater problems, but that looked like diagnosis (Dx).
2. The mechanic said that the seat heater is definitely bad and needs to be replaced. He was unsure of the heater module, but Chrysler told him it's often collateral damage when the heater goes out (yeah, I imagine there's a bit of a dying surge there). How do I Dx if the module is bad as well?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!

Answer
Hi Tom,
I have the '04 manual on a CD and can copy 6 pages about the heated seats and the wiring diagram and attach them to an email I would send to you directly. Tell me your email address,
but don't use the @ symbol instead use "at" or it will be erased automatically.
Read these pages and then ask any; further questions. I don't see this as a $900 job.
