Chrysler Repair: 99 Concorde: code 1685

Question
I sent you the codes this past Saturday which are: P1684 and P1685. You told me you believe the BCM is the issue. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Leon,
While the bcm could be the problem, I would first be sure that you are using a key which has worked previously, and then verify the SKIM is communicating to the powertrain control module that it approves of that key.
I have asked you about the history of the issue, and also whether the engine will start but only run for a few seconds which would verify that the issue may be in fact an issue with the SKIM key system. Without any further history of the problem I am unable to suggest anything else based upon the presence of the 1685 code.
I can tell you the SKIM communication pathway is from pin 2 of the SKIM module at the ignition switch proper, on a violet/yellow wire, to pin 12 of the gray plug of the bcm and then from pin 1 of the white plug of the bcm on a violet/yellow wire to pin 59 of the gray plug at the pcm. Your mechanic would do well to check those connections. Also check fuses 1,7,13,14,16,18,19,21 which are involved with the operation of the BCM, PCM, and SKIM.
The status of the sentry key immobilizer is indicated by an LED located in the device on the top center of the dash (if you have automatic temperature control heater/ac) so observe that light and describe to me its status. As long as you have a 1685 code that suggests this is your problem. However to erase the 1685 code merely disconnect the battery for a few seconds. Then try to start it again, observe wat the LED is doing when you try to start it, then use the ignition key to get the fault codes. You will always get a 1684 because you disconnected the battery but if the security system is alright you will not get a 1685 code/LED light "on" and the cause of the no start is something else.
By the way, I notice that you are not getting or not reading the answers that I send to you. Have you only seen my answers by going to the Allexpert web site? If that is so, them modify you email's restrictions so as to  allow Allexpert messages or look in your "junk" category of your email server where you will likely find my replies to you have been diverted.
