Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Grand Voyager 2003 2.5ltr

Question
Hi, i was reading your reply on the reversing switch location and i have a similar issue with my UK version of the car. I have checked the voltage at C2 pin 9 on the control unit but this is reading 12v all the time, with no ingnition on so i a thinking the wiring on the uk varient is different. I realise your in the US but i was wondering if you have any knowledge on this varient and could help me diagnose the problem here....oh and there is no voltage at the rear light clusters. Many thanks

Answer
Hi Steve,
I have the '02 and '04 manuals with wiring diagrams for the "built-up export" version which appears to include the "diesel".  The '02 manual is the reference for this response:
Is the wire on pin 9 white/light green for if that is so it indicates the same wiring as described earlier for the back-up lamps. When there is 12v on that wire however those lamps should be 'on'. I don't know why the 12v is there all the time unless the back up lamp switch or its wiring were shorted to ground which would send a false request to the integrated power module at its pin 4 of the yellow/red plug. So see if that pin is grounded whether you are in reverse or not, and then determine why there is always 12v on C2 pin 9 but the lights are not 'on'. By the way, the '04 manual is identical to the '02.
I assume that you have the manual shift transmission rather than the automatic, correct?
Please read the PS below and respond to it.
Thanks,
Roland
