Chrysler Repair: Alarm will not disarm:98 T&C no start, locking all the doors, vent glass

Question
Mr. Finston:

Thanks for your time.  1998 T&C minivan here.  3.8 eng.  (No keyfob.)

Anything new to report on alarm issues with the above-referenced vehicle?  The other night I made the mistake of locking the above-referenced vehicle after working on same and now cannot disarm alarm, (i.e., no-start condition and all the rest).  No issues with the vehicle prior to locking all the doors.

The following items are inoperative: Vent glass on drivers side quarter panel, power lock switch on driver's door, one interior cortesy lamp, and the memory seat function.  Additionally, somebody who should not have been ... has been working on the drivers side door glass.  However, I do not see any butchered wiring.

I've tried all the key/lock/unlock sequences with no results.  Also, have verified all fuses are good.

One more thing: the back hatch recently took a lick.  It's somewhat caved in just to the right of center (just to the right of the latch mechanism.

Answer
Hi John,
The alarm system is mediated by the body control module which is located on the back side of the fuse box which is under the dash. The module needs 2 fuses for power to function: #28 in the main power box in the engine compartment and fuse #2 in the box under the dash.
If those fuses are good and you have tried the lock/unlock sequence on both the driver and the passenger door as well as the lift gate key lock with no disarming then it may be the case that all those locks are in one way or another disconnected from the bcm.
If you go to the bottom edge of the bcm you will see two 40-pin 'natural' color plugs. One will show pins 1-40, the other 41-80. The three door lock wires are on pins 45,55,and 44 so you can take your pick.  Put a fine straight pin through the insulation of either the white, white/light green, or white/red wires, respectively, as you choose. Similarly, put a straight pin through the black/light green wire on pin 10 of the other plug of the module which is a ground wire. Then with the plugs back in their sockets, touch and hold one end of a 655 ohm (or as close a value as you can find) resistor to the straight pin on one of the plugs and the other end of the resistor to the pin on the other plug. That jump of the resistor, followed by removal of the resistor should send the "unlock" message to the bcm and clear the alarm set.
Then never use the door key or the power locks to secure the vehicle, just use the mechanical push buttons on the inside of the doors.
Let me if this works or not.
Please 'rate/nominate' this answer/me (see the PS below).
Thanks,
Roland
