Chrysler Repair: 94 T & C: sliding door/vent window/radio, soldering pencil, vent window

Mr. Finston, your advice worked! But only partially. My rear wiper is operational again, but the driver's side rear vent window is still inoperable. Is the sliding door on my 1994 Chrysler Town & Country minivan powered? Because it is jammed shut. It will not open. No dents to indicate a recent structural impact. Should I consult a local mechanic to investigate the sliding door? My factory installed radio works, but tuner window will not illuminate. Can't identify radio stations unless stations identify themselves. Of course, I can't set the clock either. If jammed sliding door is outside of your expertise, then don't worry about it. Would appreciate advice regarding the radio. Thank you.

I have the '93 and '95 manuals which are quite similar so no doubt are accurate for your '94,
The vent window is either the motor or the wiring and you could check to see if you are getting 12v to the vent window motor which changes polarity when you ask for open and close. If you have voltage as described then the motor must be faulty. I can send the info about accessing the motor for the window.
The sliding doors in those years were not powered so that is probably a blessing. I can copy the pages that show how to get inside the door and from there you should be able to understand the problem from the balance of the 6 pages or so about the sliding door.
The radio illumination is powered by an orange/white wire on the 7-pin gray plug so you could similarly pull out the radio and measure for incoming voltage on that wire which would be variable along with the other dash lights that vary in brightness levels. If you have the variable voltage then the problem is internal to the radio and it might be simple like a 'cold' solder joint where the socket pin for that wire connects to the radio's circuit board. You could open the radio and try reheating the joint with a soldering pencil.
I can copy pages from the manual on a photocopier and postal mail them to you. If you would send me back 10 cents per side plus the postage that would be fine with me, and just send me postage stamps equal to those costs.
Tell me your postal mailing address and I will do the copying and mailing to you. It would probably amount to around $2.00 to cover the door, window, and radio diagram, and you can send me back the postage stamps after you get the pages.
