Chrysler Repair: 04 Sebring 2.4L PCM Pinout for coil pack, chrysler sebring convertible, chrysler sebring

Question
Hi Rolland,

I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible with the 2.4 liter DOHC 4 cylinder engine.  On the Coil Pack 1 & 4 weren't working.  I checked the connection and the wire that triggers 1 & 4 is stuck in an open circuit.

I was hoping you can head me in the right direction to find the cause of the open circuit.  My first thought was, if you knew the PCM pinout for that wire, I could use my meter to test it for continuity.

That's just my thought, I am open to any advice you have on what I should do next.

Thanks.

Answer
Hi Matt:
The firing order is 1342, which of course suggests that one coil fires 14 and the other 23, but when I look at the wiring diagrams it shows one of the drivers does 12 and the other 34! So I can't be sure what pair of wires to tell you about so I'll do both.
Pin 1 of the coil pack goes to pin 9 of the control module, while pin 3 goes to pin 10. Pin 2 of the coil pack is the 12v supplu wire. The pin 3 wire is labelled as being for driver 1 so that might suggest it is the one for the 1 and 4 plugs. Its wire color is black/gray. The driver 2 wire is dark blue/tan. There is no shown disconnect so the wire is either open or shorted to ground apparently.
