Chrysler Repair: 1997 Dodge caravan code P1176, dodge caravan, pep boys

I just bought a 1997 dodge caravan and only had it a couple of days.  Service engine soon light came on.  I changed the oil thinking that may help, but it did not.  Took it to my local Pep boys and they were able to get me a code P1776.  They said this was a "Dealer code" and that they did not know what it meant.  Can you help me with this?   Thank you for your help.

P1776 is what we refer to as the transmission valve body death code. The specific name is Soleniod Switch Latched In L-R Position. Almost all diagnostics lead you to replace the soleniod pack, but that never fixes it. The only fix is to replace the valve body.
