Chrysler Repair: 2000 Chrysler LHS Steering Clunk, chrysler lhs, 2000 chrysler lhs

Question
Hello,
So, tonight as I was driving home from work, I hit a quite large pot-hole as it was dark and did not see it until it was too late. After I hit the pothole, I noticed that there was a bit of vibration in the steering wheel and when I turn left there are two clunks that happen in succession of one another. I do not know as to what this is and it is making me nervous. I just replaced both front struts yesterday so it is probably safe to say that those have nothing to do with the steering clunk being made...
Please Help!!

~Thank You

Answer
Hi Joe,
I would look at the cv-joint at the outer end of the drive shaft to see if its boot is torn or other sign of damage. Check the lug nuts on the wheel. Look at the ball joint for signs of damage. Check bolts on the crossmember, amd finally check the tie rod end.

PS You would probably want to lift the wheel that went in the hole and turn it by hand to notice if the wheel itself has been damaged and also that way you could listen for sound coming from the cv-joint.
