Chrysler Repair: 04 Chrysler T & C runs rough: code 0300, emission control system, cylinder misfire

Question
QUESTION: 2004 Chrysler T & C runs rough and will not idle.  Fuel pressure is 55 psi and compression measures between 170 and 180 on all 6 cylinders.  All plugs were removed and were black with carbon.  New plugs, new wires, and new coil were installed.  Engine is only running on 3 to 4 cylinders at best.  Random cylinder misfire code is set.

ANSWER: Hi Rod,
There are alot of possible causes. I presume that you only have the 0300 code.
The manual gives the following possibilities, in addition to the wires which were replaced:
fuel pump or filter (unlikely as regards the filter), injector harness connectors, ignition coil circuit, spark plugs, mechanical problem (but compression test would probably have shown that), contaminated fuel, water in fuel, pcm power ground connections, injectors, restricted exhaust, intake restriction, the pcm itself, the evap emission control system, the exhaust gas recirc valve system (may not have this system), and of course because you are running rich one of the sensors that affects the mixture might be inaccurate but not so much as to set a fault code.
What was the history of the onset of this problem?
I have the '04 manual on CD and so can provide you with the details on how to approach this from the section of the manual that discusses each. I can copy these pages and attach them to an email. What I need from you is which engine you have, and what is your email address (the Allexpert site ask you for it, of course, but we 'experts' don't see that). So choose a 'private' option follow-up question where in you give me that information and then I send you the pages quickly.

QUESTION: Roland, I greatly appreciate your response.  This problem gave only a minor warning with a small shudder and then the engine started missing badly.  It will barely idle if at all and has no power.  It's running rich...you can smell gas like crazy.  Warm or cold...same problem.  Lots of spark on all six.  3.8 engine.  Please contact me

Answer
Hi Rod,
I didn't get your email address (it was filtered out) because you didn't click on the 'private' option. So try it again. Thanks
Keep checking for fault codes in the meantime. Ideally the computer will pick up a specific cause. There are about 8 pages I will copy and attach to an email that gives the info about how to approach this code.
